THE FEAR OF THE LORD IN SONSHIP

Isa 33:5-6 The LORD is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with his justice and righteousness. 6 He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure. NIV

The fear of the Lord is the key to the treasure of God.

Train tracks high above water. Midway your friend decides to jump in. You want to but the fear is real. Suddenly a train rounds the corner and you realize there is no way to make it off before the train gets to you so you jump. You didn’t need prayer to get past your fearThe greater fear simply did its work and had its way in your heart.

The fear of the Lord is awe filled awakening of the human heart to the overwhelming majesty of our creator God.

Keep focusing on his presence over and over as our way of life.

Getting focus EZ – keeping focus requires reorganizing of your life.

Numbers 2:1-2 The people of Israel shall camp each by his own standard, with the banners of their fathers’ houses. They shall camp facing the tent of meeting on every side. ESV

God asks for every house, every camp, to arrange their homes facing toward the tent of meeting. This was the place where the Shekinah glory of God would fall and remain visible for all to see.

Our lives should always face an encounter w God! Everything in our lives should be arrangedtowards experiencing God.

Learning to live with a deep awareness of this unconquerable King will address our fears and insecurities on deepest level!

The fear of the Lord is awe filled awakening of the human heart to the overwhelming majesty of our creator God.

Ps 33:8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!

God’s plan is to awaken all the earth to the overwhelming majesty of our Creator God.

Phil 2:1-7 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with X, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus Who, being in very nature God, did nt consider equality w God smthg to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servantNIV

Philippians 2:13 For God is working in you, (Gal 4:19 forming Christ within you) giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. NLT

The absence of prayer reveals the presence of self-sufficiency.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear… NIV

Many times misquoted. Perfect love doesn’t cast out “all fear”. “All” is not in the Grk language.

Perfect love doesn’t cast out the fear of the Lord, but it does drive out lesser fears in our lives.

Are you spiritually well? reflection

Do you tend to see God as an angry master or loving father? Jesus didn’t die on the cross so God could be your Master…died so God could be your Father.

Are you spiritually well? reflection

The Orphan Spirit:

Adam and Eve deceived by devil, perpetuating this orphan spirit. Lucifer was separated from his original home and is resentful of anyone enjoying intimacy with the Father.

John 14:18-21 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live…The one who loves me will be loved by my Father…” NIV

What is the orphan spirit?

  • Easily offended
  • Self-preserving
  • Self-protecting
  • Insecure
  • Fearful
  • Emotionally and relationally disconnected
  • Striving for significance and affirmation.

We live in an orphan culture that lives for likesrecognition and invitations

Adam and Eve experienced deep fellowship with their Father God before the Fall. Their sin broke connection producing an orphan spirit causing untold damage

This is why we see Jesus restoring the revelation of God as our Father to all humanity.

God is not some impersonal force. He is our Father

We can know God as Teacher, Strong Tower, Hope, our Rock, our Creator and the list goes on – He can be so many things to you but if u’ve not experienced Him as a father then your relationship with God is distorted.

God didn’t hire u to work for him adopted you into his family

Jesus came to rescue us from an orphan mindset of insecurity and uncertainty by reversing this mindset to confident sonship.

Gal 3:26 In Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. ESV

The perfect love of The Father in the life of an orphan brings healing and restoration on the deepest level.

Gen 16– Abraham, Sarah, Hagar Spirit of Ishmael (insecure heart of an orphan) wars against the spirt Isaac (confdnt heart of son) Spiritual battle in our lives today.

Ps 23 says The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. What is he saying here?

When I find fulfillment in God my Father who shepherds my soul I’ll stop striving from a place of “want” trying to fill the void in my life that only He can fill.
